Hello. I’m Dr. Gayle Hytrek, President of Moraine Park Technical College. It is my pleasure to share with you our community annual report. As we move forward into the future, it is always good to reflect on the past. Our activities have been highlighted in the news throughout the year and we want to share these stories with you, along with our new program and campus tour videos and a report on our strategic planning process.

Through our planning process we have focused on measuring our progress to meet the College’s long-term goals and comparing our results to the benchmarks set for each of our strategic goals. We are an action- and results-oriented college.

We continually collaborate with businesses to help them build and retain their competitive skilled workforce to meet their future needs. This year, Department of Workforce Development training grants helped us to support businesses in their employee development and employee retention activities. Please check out two labor surveys we conducted in partnership with area agencies projecting an upcoming critical shortage of skilled labor. To assist with this looming need, more businesses turned to Moraine Park as their Training Solution - a commitment we take very seriously.

Education is a lifelong activity that increases in its importance as technology changes our lives and our working environments. We pride ourselves in making sure our programming and equipment are state of the art to prepare our graduates for the future. This year our Barber/Cosmetologist facilities received a facelift, and we implemented a new Upward Bound grant initiative. We have also increased our partnerships with baccalaureate institutions here in Wisconsin and nationally to provide more opportunities for our alumni to ‘take their Moraine Park degree’ to the next level – a bachelor’s degree. Our students’ futures are our priority.
